Teams and SeeSaw
With parents working from home and/or performing critical worker roles whilst also educating their children, we understand the demands placed on families during these difficult times.
Therefore, we are pleased to announce all of our home learning will move to two online learning platforms named Microsoft Teams and Seesaw.
This means parents do not have to study, prepare or find the resources sent out by class teachers.
Microsoft Teams allows pupils and teachers to interact in real-time, as they would in school. Children will be able to have video calls and message conversations with their class teacher and their peers. Seesaw will allow pupils to access daily lessons in a virtual classroom set by their class teacher. Most importantly- the use of these platforms will allow teachers to do what they do best: teach, assess and communicate.
How will my child be able to access their online classroom?
First you (or they!) will need to download the Microsoft Teams and Seesaw Class apps.
If you don't want to do that, your child can access through the internet (Google Chrome works best), just search for Microsoft Office 365 or head to https://www.office.com/ to log into their school email account.
If you're setting your account up for the first time, please remember to varify it using your own email/ mobile number. Microsoft will send you a varification code- school does not have access to this code. For more support with setting up your Teams account, please refer to the step-by-step guide above which walks you through the process.
Keep the password you choose safe, your child will need this to log onto Teams each time!
For SeeSaw, head to https://app.seesaw.me and be sure your child selects student when asked to do so.
Just be sure to keep it safe! No one other than your child should have access to it!
How will I be able to see my child's school work and progress?
The input for each morning session will be delivered live via your child's class Teams group each morning (please refer to your child's year group timetable for specific times, they have been shared on Teams/ SeeSaw). These sessions will be recorded and uploaded to Teams for you to access at any point during the day.
The work will be set via SeeSaw and your child may upload their work to each task set.
School will have been in contact with you to pass on your child's classroom code. Simply click the code and follow the onscreen prompts.
The code will look something like this:
https://app.seesaw.me/s/515-722-342
You may want to download the Seesaw Parent and Family app (and we suggest you do) but please be aware this is different to the Seesaw Class app your child uses.
If you or your child need support or clarification, please make contact with the class teacher via Teams or SeeSaw.
